Did you miss me? Sorry that I didn't get a post out yesterday. I wanted to but was, well, lazy. LOL.. You caught me.

I wanted to share our Valentine's with you, but first, make sure you pop back Monday to see some new changes here and see what else is changing. It won't be big, but it might involve blog candy. Will that bring you back? How about some fun projects I've done? That will really reel you in huh??

OK, here is the cards and pretty flower that we got. The kids got cards from the Grandparents, and I got the rose from my dad. He also sent McKinley a lil blue bear...she said OH WoW when the florist delivered it. It was cute!! This was for our dinner. I made steak and shrimp and some veggies, and we used the china. And the wine goblets...no one here drinks wine, so we used Koolaid! LOL... The lil bowls have our butter. My mom always did this for us, so I thought it was fun tradition to keep going with!!

I got some chocolates and a mug from my Valentine, plus a Papercrafts magazine (that I told RC to make dad buy me!)

And this is the card that Greg made me. Pretty fun huh?

OK, and my new love... This is pretty good, and does curb my chocolate craving. For a few minutes!! Thanks Ashley for getting me hooked!!

I do love this lil Penguin guy. I mostly used the DP on the card and then the lil Brad that I ordered too. Then I stamped the penguin on the envie itself. I tend to forget to decorate them.

For his treats, I had bought him some Twizzlers awhile back and kept the tub knowing that I could alter it somehow. So I added some Golf Themed papers and embellishments to the top. Then I got too messy with the paint, so it looks silly. But I know he will like it. ;)

CHA is the Craft and Hobby Association, and each year about this time, crafters get to travel to warm, sunny California. They are all there right now! And this is where the Papercrafting(Plus others) companies show off their new lines for Spring.

That's right, I have a never before seen tool that you may only see on this blog. Depends, tho...if you are crafty enough you just might see one on your craft table as early as tonight!

What is this crafty lil device? Well, for those of you who are reading and not scrolling down to see pics first, I'll tell you.

Last night I finally got my new SU! order. It's the A Good Egg set and the Spring Fling DP. So I told Greg I needed a StampaMaJig. Like any other Stamping Husband he knew just what the heck I meant.

Yeah Right.

So I tried to explain to him what it was and possibly he could make me one. OK, show me a picture said Mr. Crafty. ;)

Well, today I had to ink that set up and I wanted to play around with it, so I thought, man I need that StampaMaJig now!!! LOL... like everything else.

So I scoured my room and found some whittling wood (B/c you know I needed that once too!) and I nailed one end to a smaller black and Viola! My own Stampa MaJig.

Call me Cheap or call me crafty...it was free and I can use it!!

I can easly lay the plastic sheets up next to it to see if it's OK! (BTW...yep, I've scrounged for some lame plastic sheet covers to use!! LOL)
And here I was able to line it up perfect. Well, after a few tries and I realized I was stamping it upside down than what I stamped on the sheet. Ugh.
So I give you the Hick Chick StampaMaJig (Stole the name from Cowboy Troy)

OK and seriously, why did SU! put 2 sentiment stamps on one block..you know that it's gonna be messed up somewhere!! Geesh. So I was more crafty and cut them out and put one on one side and one on the other. And I put them on this way b.c it's easier to hold the block than putting the words the other way.

Then I played for real...making this cute lil card.

Yesterday we really warmed up (33degrees F) so I was so ready for some more Sunshine.

I got these new stamps and paper from Martha's Choice in the mail, and inked 'em up right away. It looks like they sold out of the pengiuns...wonder why? LOL... I did find the complete line here...Imaginisce. I tried to get these bigger but it didn't do it, so click on them to see them closer. I saw this Tilt Card Tutorial on Charmaine's blog (CLICK HERE) and when I was looking at this Hula gal I had the light bulb go off. So it looks funny to show you how it tilts, but it's so dang cute!!

Wish my hips could tilt like that!! LOL...I'd hurt something I'm sure!!

I also used the cute lil boy too. Both of these would be fun for summer birthday cards. Or to invite to a party. RECIPE for both:

That I will always remember....and it's about all that was really too exciting..lame huh?

{Technique Tuesday} Embossing.

OK, this is not a new technique in stamping so I apologize to the Vetern Stampers, but I do know that a few of my readers will benefit today.

So on to Embossing.

To get started, you are going to need the basics for a card,

plus, an Embossing Ink pad (I use Versamark and you can use any PIGMENT ink pad)

Embossing Powder and a Heat tool.

I also use an Embossing Buddy before I stamp on my CS. This helps clear the CS of static and moisture. It helps the EP(Embossing Powder) stick to only the ink.
I also have this lil pink Top Boss ink pad for Embossing. I got it from SU! and I looked and they no longer carry it. So I would suggest to those starting out, get a Versamark pad...you can also use it to just stamp a watermark on your CS.

So I stamped my images....

And BEFORE I stamped I (Should have here) folded a piece of scratch paper in half, opened it up and put under my CS.

Then I dump a little bit of EP on my image. Here I used some Scented EP from Cornish Heritage Farms. It smells so yummy - you really need SmelloVision!! But there are tons of EP out there in many colors.

Then I just shake it off and tap the paper to make sure it's all off. Brush any excess off where you don't want the EP (This is helped by the Embossing Buddy) Then you can dump the excess back into the container. So one container can last you forever. Almost. LOL...

Useing your heat gun, wave it over the image, careful to not stay in one place or get too close. After a short bit, you will see the image start to change. It's fun to watch... And you will end up with a shiney image like so. (And it smelled good too!! LOL)

Here above my cup I stamped with Versamark. Now, if you use a clear EP you need to use a clear ink pad, like Versamark. If you use a Colored ink pad, you will see the color under the clear EP. That is OK....if you want the color. When embossing, I just always use Versamark. It's easier for me.
This stuff is called Glassy Glaze. It is similar to a EP, but it gives you more of a shiney look. You will see....
I apply it the same way, dump on to scratch paper, back into container.

Here you can see before I Heat it....

And after I heated it up.
This is Clear EP. You can stamp your image onto the Designer papers and still see that image. This is before I heated......
And after...... Then I trimmed it out and added it to my card.
And here is my finished card....you can click on it to make it bigger and see more details.
This is a simple technique that adds some glam to your card. It's easy, but it does take the right tools.

Bunch 'O Cards

Happy Monday!! Aren't they lovely? We got another couple inches of snow last night. And I could tell our deer friend was over munchin on our bush again...saw his tracks. I had to shovel out so David could make it across the street to school! Sounds funny, but I watched him try to step in the car tracks to get across! He's funny.

These are the creations I made Saturday night. I love having my friends over, but I would rather gab and not have to think about cards. So these are all pretty basic - and mostly card fronts. I'll get them mounted on a card later.

I still have some Valentine's to finish, and cards/projects for this months Stamping Up! club. Plus all that other household nonsense.

Although I drew it in my Sketch Book, I forgot to take that downstairs with me, so I was winging it. The DP in the middle isn't supposed to go all the way down. I am hoping that you'll feel sorry for me for not getting to stamp for the last couple days. You do right? You better!! :O)

It's just been busy, but this afternoon is open to stamp and tomorrow the ladies are coming over. They've whined to my mom so she is gonna keep the kids for a sleep over! Not that she didn't want to anyway.

So I thought I would post these tins. I worked on them last weekend and posted them on my ETSY store. (CLICK HERE TO SEE IT!!) As I told my friend, I'm not trying to get rich, but I enjoy makeing them and really have no purpose. So that is the reason for the store. I have some cards on there too.

These are all using mailboxes from Target. They are just as cute to decorate as I thought they would be.

Wow....THIS is pretty cool. I am a PTI fan, I love how Nicole makes these awesome sets that work so well not only together but in so many different ways. And now she has added 110lb cardstock and matching ribbon to her line. That is awesome - I love color matching like that!!

Cards to share

I have a couple cards to share today. I've been working on orders to get them done and delivered, and also made these. I am now on to some swaps that need to get out.

Bella's New Home

My Bellas have moved. I needed something different for my Bella images from RAKs and Swaps so I altered this metal lunchtin to look like Bella's house and added CosmoBella to the front. My 7yo said, she is drinking outside. Oops...open container! LOL....
I seperated them into ABC order, which will help me find them better. But also made me realize I don't have that many images really! LOL... Better swap some more!

So this is what I did when I had tons of other things to do. Off to get our taxes done. :( See you later!

Tech. Tuesday - Getting Started

For my first Technique Tuesday, I wanted to start off with some of the Basics that are needed when you start stamping. Yeah, that is pretty basic, but I really wanted to start at the beginning with this, as I know I have readers who are just starting out.

So this is some of the tools that I use to create and just to be upfront, I am not endorsing any companies. I also don’t have it ALL....this is just what I use and it works fine for me. There is so much out there that I can’t do it all.

STAMPS

Of course you must start with the stamps right? Well there are wood-mounted stamps like these shown from Stamping UP! I first started stamping with SU! so most of my wood mounted stamps come from there. These are the ones you most likely fine in other stores too. In the last year or so, un-mounted stamps, either rubber or acrylics have become very popular. Stampers want to take up less space.
Un-mounted Rubbah like Bellas are just the rubber. You must either use as is, or purchase EZ mount foam, like you see on this Bella. Then you use an acrylic block like these from Close to my Heart to stamp with. I have found that going with out the foam doesn’t give you a crisp image when you stamp.

TOOLS – CUTTING IT
The one tool that I think you have to have is a good trimmer. I have had a few over the years, and I bought this one last year in Colorado for less than $10. It’s from Provo Craft and I got it a Hobby Lobby. I like it. Yes, you have to be careful when you are cutting that you don’t let it sway in the middle, but you can get good cuts out of it. There are many other pricier options as well. HOT TIP: One tip on cutting cardstock for a card....use the little ruler that pops out (some of these are hidden on trimmers) and measure your 8.5x11 CS to the 5.5” mark. Then fold in half for a perfect A2 size card. This is the normal size for cards made. I’ve seen a lot of people struggle with this measuring. If you find a mark setting that you like, use a Sharpie and mark it so you remember. I’ll post a layering/matting technique in the future.

STAMPIN IT OUT
OK, now I have my stamps and my card base cut, I need to stamp my image. So I need Ink. This is where you really have to see what you prefer, because there are so many ink choices out there that I have never even tried. I started out with SU! Classic Ink pads. They are a water based Dye ink. A good ink for using on basic projects. And they also come in Spots as you see the lil ink pad here. HOT TIP: That is a good way to build up a lot of colors for cheap. {I have 2 full color families that I got as a Hostess for free in the larger pads. That is always an option too.} They also make Craft Inks which are pigment inks for stamping on items like clothing, walls, etc.
I stumbled across Palette Hybrid inks this year, and I’ve been using the Noir Black ink pad quite often. I have to say I like the images that I get using this pad, and I am sure that the other colors work just as well. Then another new one is StazOn. This is more of a permanent ink but takes awhile longer to dry. However it stamps on materials like Acetate well and won’t smudge. I like to use it on Image Swaps. Another oldie is Versamark. This is like a water mark stamp, which you can see the effects on this card. It will bring out the color of the cardstock and make it brighter just to give it enough of a watermark look. You can also use Versamark for embossing (Watch for that tutorial next week!) And finally you see I have some distressing inks that you can use as stamp inks or for their intended purpose of distressing your artwork.

TOOLS – CLEAN IT
Once you stamp your image you will need to clean them. Using warm water and a damp towel works fine. I have the SU! Stampin’ Scrub and Stampin’ Mist to clean my stamps, and I also use StazOn cleaner to clean off my stamps that I ink up in StazOn. HOT TIP: I also use it to clean off my blocks. It’s not uncommon to see stains on your stamps esp. when using black inks. That won’t affect future images or ruin other colored ink pads, as long as you did clean it.

THE PAPER
Now, you need something to stamp on. White paper, where should I start? There is a lot of good quality White Cardstock out there. Some are thicker than others but I’m not going to compare them today. I have no favorites.

And I could go on and on for days on the Designer papers that is out there too. I use a lot of SU! colored cardstock in 8.5 x 11, however most come 12x12 too. I store them in this drawer in file folders labeled with their color name and color family. I store all my other Cardstock, which mostly comes 12x12 in this rack I got from the LSS. There is some full sheets of DP there too, and all DP that is less than 12x12 goes in this basket. Then I store all my kits (things that came together) in this tote. I store them by brand...SU!, CTMH, TAC, Other, THEMES, etc.

HOT TIP: Now, starting out, you may want to go wild and buy all kind of DP and CS. I can do that too. If it’s cute, I buy it. LOL.... However, it makes card making 100 times easier if your items match. That is one thing I love about SU! The color families make it so easy to match items. But you can learn how to do that elsewhere too. If you find some DP that you like, buy some matching CS and embellishments too. (I’m such an enabler huh?) Then when you sit down to craft you won’t get discouraged right away, b/c your paper doesn’t match.

I also store all of my scraps in these 2 plastic sleeves, one for cardstock and one for DP. They are in the front of my tote, so that I can search there first.

TOOLS – COLOR IN THE LINES
OK, now, I’ve chosen my stamps, got my ink out, cut my card base, picked out some matching papers, it’s time to color my images. This is exactly how I make a card....in those steps. Sometimes I will pick DP and start there, but mostly it’s the stamp that I need.
I use ZIG markers and some Sugarloaf Whispers, as well as SU! Once again, could go and on for days about coloring mediums. (Oh, I forgot I do use Colored Pencils and a Blender pen too!!) Coloring takes practice and I LOVE TO COLOR!!! So I practice a lot. If you don’t like to color, then you will most likely buy stamps that don’t need to be colored in. It’s all good stampers!! I also remembered chalks too...see on and on!!!

PUTTING IT TOGETHER
Some how or another you have to be able to attach all these things together. This is where the adhesive comes in. Once again, there is so much out there. One thing that need to be aware of, esp. if using for scrapbooks, is the ACID FREE glues. If you are using your pictures, make sure your glue is Acid Free. Some of my favorites are Pioneer Extra Strength glue stick, foam tape and pop dots, and this Herma Vario Tab Despenser. I love the way it works. I've used other things, and these are the ones I love.

LET THE FUN BEGIN!!
Now, time to top off the card and embellish it! I love ribbon and brads. Those 2 things can make your card beautiful. You can also add flowers, stickers, bling, glitter, hardware. I am sure that as you craft you will find all kinds of things.

Did you see the game yesterday? I didn't really care one way or another, so yay Giants. :oP We did have fun at our party, but didn't get home until late. There is no school for kids today - the teachers are there tho. So that is nice. The boys had a playdate at a friends so I am trying to recoop from the weekend and being gone most of yesterday.

I did take some cool pics this weekend, that I'm posting on the FAMILY blog.

I thought I would share some pics of myself. I got my hair cut last week. I wanted to grow it out, but my hair is so fine and blah. So I bit the bullet and went in. I had to find a new stylist since the old one moved, so it was time anyway. It's taking me some time to get used to, she cut a lil shorter than I planned, but I love it. {Super Sunday}

I hope you are all getting ready for the Super Bowl. I do like to watch football, just not with Greg. He likes to flip to all the games that are on. I like to watch one game and pay attention. But I love to watch the Super Bowl for the commercials. And then sometimes the crazy things they do at the half time. LOL...

We will be leaving here shortly to the party at the Lucky Bullet to watch the game. {I get to leave for awhile to go to my friend Khristi's for a Tastefully Simple party} I hope you have a great time...even if you don't watch.

This weekend on the Bella Yahoo Group was the Bella Babe contest. This is the card I created. We were challenged to create a card for our favorite team or one of them playing this weekend. I'm a Cowboys fan...more from the Troy Aikman years tho. So I went with that color scheme and then used this fun Football paper that I had stashed from the LSS closing.

When I was planning this out, the referee bella came to mind, so I used MWAH bella and colored her shirt with the stripes. I paper pieced her skirt with some Blue Bazzill paper and then colored the rest of her. I also had this ribbon from the LSS and cut the megaphone out of one and then the football from another. I am so excited about the end result!

Freaky Friday

Well it's not really freaky - I'm just glad it's Friday. I really wanted to keep sleeping today tho! Tomorrow!! Yeah!!

Last night I worked on my cards for the Bella Color Challenge. I knew I wanted this colors but I hadn't had time to make the cards before last night.

I got a new Glitter pen from American Crafts yesterday so I wanted to BLING it up! I paper pieced the dress and the cupcake liner, and out lined the liner with my new pen, and also the dots on her dress. Then I used Sparlkes on the cupcake top. Forgot the cherry on top tho! oops!!

Then when digging through my stash I found this paper that said CUPCAKES. So I wanted to highlight that. I used my CM cutting system to make the orange circle, highlighted it with glitter and attached it. Then added the brads to give some accent. I finished it by added some paper peircing in the corner.

These last 2 are for some card orders I got last week. I needed to make four with these bra and sentiment from Hambo Stamps. I was glad I wasn't the only one who liked these!!

My only mistake here is coloring the bra too dark...I think I'll change that today.

I have been thinking again. I know. That can't be good.

In my REAL craft world - remember this is my PRETEND craft world. LOL... But in the real world here, there isn't much for crafty inspirations. And one of my goals this year is to share more of what I learn when I spend time online. You know, when you others are working...yeah you Ashley and Georgia!!

So I will be posting a weekly tutorial or project that you can easily make at home. To some of you this may seem BLAH and so last week. For that I am sorry. But I hope to inspire you all. If there is anything that you would like me to show you I can...just email me about a question.

Now for the deets. Starting with my favorite card...the one using my favorite things.

Well, I started with Cosmobella...my favorite Bella. My favorite paper is Bazzill Bling. Can you see it shimmer? I love that!! I also LOVE DP...and my favorite now is this TAC Mimi paper.

I also love ribbon and brads...those are my 2 favorite embellishments. I should've used Paper Piecing, b/c that is my favorite technique, but I forgot. I love to color Cosmobella!!

This card was for the Inspiration Challenge. Here is a link to the piece we used for inspiration. I just printed it on cardstock and paper pieced it for her skirt and purse. Cute huh? The rest of this CS was SU! and some TAC DP. The ribbon was from a fibers pack my Making Memories. And then found some random brads.

Ami I hope you enjoy this one!!

And finally the Challenge I hosted used this Sketch by Shannan. I figured I would show what I really look like in my PJ's....grumpy! LOL....

For this card I started the base with some Bazill, and this DP is from Wild Asparagus maybe...I don't remember and I didn't write it down. The brown CS is Prism. This is a pretty simple lil card.

Making Valentines and Coffee

Yesterday we were stranded at home and needed something for RC to do, so we made his Valentine's for pre-school. I had seen these Trident Gum Holders at Halloween and they are so easy.
I cut and scored the paper, RC punched the holes with the Word Window punch and then he put the frogs on front. I had colored those the night before while we watched TV. He was super excited to take them already, but we put them up to wait.
Since we were home bound all day, I got quite a few cards done. This set was still out & I thought it looked nice and warm. Esp. since I was enjoying my coffee all day yesterday. Sorry that the picture is so bright. Ugh.
This was pretty simple. I stamped the images (cup and foam) with Stazon and then cut out. Mounted on some Brown Bazzill that I stamped the steam in White Kraft ink. I stamped the straw separately and cut out and glued behind the cup. You can't see it well, but I stamped the coffee beans on the bottom part of the card.
When I was done, I used Crystal Effects on the cup and Liquid Applique on the foam. Looks sooo yummy!

Talk about a Mood Swing. Yesterday it was nearly 40 degrees (F) and today it's below zero with a nasty wind....wind chill at 30 Below. Yuck. I have no reason to leave the house, so I most likely won't today.

This weekend was busy and fun, but only was able to stamp this for a Bridal Shower on Saturday. Talk about last minute cards tho! What is happening to me?!!?
This was my first time inking up HitchedaFellaBella. I had got this gift and wanted to color the images like the wrapping paper. Luckily I matched all the other wrapping paper too - the wonderful side effect of living in a small town...we all shopped at the same place! LOL.... I found this Vellum card stashed away too...thought it was super pretty. Very simple card.

It doesn't feel like Golfing weather at all, but I am sure there are Die Hards that would go if asked. I am married to one.

I really shouldn't have been messing around yesterday but I was and this card came about. I swapped Golferfella images with Colleen Gallagher for some Teeoffabella images. She's fun!! I had some Golfing themed paper from Karen Foster, this cool ribbon my brother and SIL gave me at Christmas and the felt flowers from Colleen also. I love the way it turned out.

Oh Pooh! Can you believe that Thursday is almost done? This week has flown by. I guess it doesn't help I've been busy - but the weekend is almost here. Yeah!!

So this <------------ has been where I have been part of the time instead of at my craft table. Over the weekend the boys and I started this Pooh puzzle. I like to start with the outer edge, but they were all blank!! So we started at Pooh himself, and finally completed it last night. I had to take a picture to prove it.

I was asked to make something for a Door Prize for a friend. So I came up with this lil beauties today. I used some Prism Cards, Crate Paper, WRMemory Keepers Ribbon and my Bellas. All 6 are different yet alike.

Sorry, no new creations today. However, Cornish Heritage Farms (which is right down the road) is giving away a new stamp set from their new The Rummage Bin line. You can see the link HERE.

The only news is that last nights Craft Night with the Red Hatters went well. There was only 3 or 4 of the 18 gals who had ever stamped before, so that was pretty interesting. One gal left with stamped images on her cheeks. It started to get a lil wild at that point, but it was fun. I was sad I forgot my camera to take pics and share how each one was really quite different.

I even ended up with 2 orders for Custom Cards. Yay Me!!

Today I do have a list of craft projects that need to get worked on, in addition to household junk. We moved furniture and rooms and need to buy a shelf for the kids new play room. Anyway, I'll have something more exciting tomorrow but today, go sign up for a Free Stamp set!! Tell Liz I sent you!!

Tangii made my whole weekend actually when she emailed that she was sending me this award. I am honored that she thought of me, and I am excited that she and I are friends. Yep, I have pretend stamping friends(psf), and I am so proud!!

Can you believe it's Tuesday!!

I hope you enjoyed the creations from VSN - that was all I go to. I got lazy Saturday and then Sunday took the kids Sledding. Plus is was cold...I just wanted to sit with my Hot Cocoa and a blankie.

Today it's almost 20 degrees (F) and I think it felt very warm!! I wanted to share with you a couple other cards I worked on this weekend.

The first one is made with the Basic Grey Infuse paper and the die cut that comes with them. I was trying to figure out which stem to use and the ribbon caught my eye.

Some more of the creations for VSN. These are what I've done so far today.

The first was a VNEck card. I'd never made one of these, but they are super fun. For this I used my Simply Scrappin kit from SU!, Just Delightful. I love that kit...may have to buy another one.

Anyway, it's cute.
Then it was the ticket challenge. And I've been singing I've Got A Ticket to Ride all day!! Ugh. I love Words by Wilson and this stamp. On the inside it reads I thought a cruise would be a great way to celebrate your birthday. Then it says Pick up my mail while I'm gone. I used some old Karen Foster paper on the background, and some Heidi Swapp tape, and CTMH Ribbon. Tried to get it to work, but realized at the end I put the DP on upside down. DOH!!

And finally...some fun. We were to make animals out of punches. Well, most of the other cards look pretty, but I got messy and fun. Created a pig. LOL...

I'll probably give it to the boys to play with. LOL...it was fun tho.

I am helping a friend on the computer today, so won't get to finish until later this afternoon. See you then...

Well, I have half way done with tonight's Challenges. I tell you this really gets your stamping MoJo going. Maybe if I have enough steam after these turkeys are all in bed I'll play the other 3.

The second challenge was to create a card based on Chocolate and Shoes. Yum huh? Well, the pic that Jamie posted was cool, and made me think of my Bling Bazzill. I also thought about this cool Witches shoe that Sheila had given me a template for a year or more ago. It would've been so cool, but alas, couldn't find it.

So then this came about...my SavvyShoppabella.

Now onto the creations....

My mom asked me to help her figure out some craft thing to teach to the Red Hatters. I was really excited, but then stumped. I really wanted to do Nugget Boxes, but they were sold out. So I browsed the Blogs and I think it was on Angie's Blog that I found this.

I wanted cute, but yet simple, as these aren't really a stamping group. So I covered the box with some Purple Bazzill, which was stamped with some hearts background.

Then I simply punched out some squares, one from Red Bazzill, one from the Dashing DP from the Winter SU! catty. Then I stamped the heart from I like it a latte and Sweet from the So Very set.

You can see below that those are popped up. Then tied some ribbon to finish it off. Simple yet fun, and they can use them for Vday.

On a sadder note, my lunch was canceled today. I am extremely bummed, I was so looking forward to that ladies time. Ugh. Oh well. Monday I think we will try again.

It's still snowy here, so I think I'll retreat to my craft room, get these projects ready and the cards ready for the class too.

I just keep thinking that iPodabella needs to be made into a Gift Card holder and holding an iTunes Gift Card. I may have said that before - sorry. We have a birthday coming up and that is what I wanted to send the birthday girl, so I made this card for her.

On to the creation... I really wanted to use up my new Moose You set, but he was so hard to work with today. Must be male. (Love you munchkin) But I finally created this lil number.

You can see below I used some new Clear Buttons I ordered from SU! I love them. And I whipped out some wire...remember that stuff? Oh I have tons from when that was in...so I thought I should use it. I glued the pink Bazzill on the back , then glued the heart on the front, and attached with wire.

Tonight is our Stampin' UP! Club night. My demo brought over our new catalog last night so I was able to drool over it all! There are some super fun new sets in there. My favorite being Seriously Sassy. I love the saying SWEET!! I know those would rock on some Bella cards right?

It was time consuming, but they turned out pretty well. The worst part was matching them up and a Stamp a ma Jig would be very helpful here.

Well, Friday was a wonderful mail/package day for me. At the PO I received 2 wonderful RAKS from some wonderful stampers. Mr. Brown brought me some new ribbon and paper, and the FedEx gal brought a new Glass Lid for my PC skillet that I won - Free!! YES!!

So these are the 2 RAKS. The first one, Happy Everything is from April Hall. She is one of my SBS3 Sisters! Thanks April!!

The second is form Tanya (orangegymnut on SCS). She is a great friend from the Bella Group. In addition to the awesome card, I got some SavvyShoppabella images. Sweet!!

So I of course, got straight to work with them. I decided to pay it forward and send some RAKS as well. So these are going out to some Bella Sistahz today.

This first one, I wanted to try the kickstand card, that was the Sketch of the week over at the main SCS forum. I think it needed something else, but I left it alone.

Baby Album - Happy Friday!!

TGIF!!! I love Fridays! How about you? I love knowing that tomorrow I can sleep in...YAY!! This cold is still get me down, so no stamping the last couple days.
Here is parts of an album I made for my cousin's new baby. I am excited about how it turned out. I think it's kind of blah with out pics in it tho. I hope they love it and use it. LOL...you know how non crafters are!!

For this I used mostly CTMH papers and Stickese - I don't remember the name, but they are not in the new catty.

I also used up some other various girl embellies. I made some new baby pages and then one for each month, with height and weights. And then some for the birthday party.

I hope you all have a great weekend. I won't be posting...hopefully getting some projects done.

Stamping with a Cold

Thanks to my lovely little McKinley, I have a cold. After a few sleepless nights and her sneezing on me, I got it. So today I have no energy to house work, so I thought I would stamp. Makes sense right. Well, this is what happens when you try to stamp with a cold. You MASK things backwards! UGH. So right away I knew I did it wrong, {don't laugh} and I tried it again. This time getting the heart in the boat.
I love this Boatloads of Love set. And I have been wanting to try stamping it like this for some time. And yesterday, Allison enabled me to the a Sketch Challenge. Alisa Tilsner posted the sketch and I immediately thought of this. I stamped my *trailer* and then masked the heart inside on some Very Vanilla. I tried to use my blender pen, but it's whacking out, so I used some Shimmerz on the inside. Colored with my Sugarloaf markers, matted and threw it all together. If you think it looks familiar, it's because I am using up my Just Delightful Simply Scrapping kit I got for Christmas. You can also barely see that I used my Crop a Dile for some dry embossing, just under the strip of DP.

I could not get into the stamping mood yesterday. I had forgot about a few challenges I wanted to do tho, so hopefully that will help today.

I wanted to get started on some Valentine's Day cards. I am planning an Open House for TAC and my cards so I want to have a good selection done up. So really I need to get to work huh?

I have a ton of these Loads of Love images from the Wish RAK on SCS and I figured that they would work really well to give to a man right? Also, I don't have a round scallop punch...only oval ones, but I used it and cut it almost in half to make the circle. You can't really see that in the picture...that's good.

The Love Doctor is in. LOL.... This last Friday was the Bella Babe challenge for the month and it was a color challenge to use Red, White and Black/Grey. I think this is the only piece of black I have left and no Grey. Anyway, I wanted to use Docabella but wanted her coat White. So I tried to chalk the background a little. Something I need to practice I guess. So then I added the shadow highlights to the inside of the coat. I think now that I should have cut her out and popped her up huh? Oh well... no mistakes in stamping... I also hand wrote the sentiment...thought it was funny too.

Manic Monday

Happy Monday! Did you notice I was absent on the weekend? That is my plan...no posting on the weekend and doing more with the kids.

I did get a little crafting done, made an album for my cousin's new baby and worked on a project to submit. That's it. I also took the kids to the ball games and then yesterday to watch the rough stock rodeo practice. The boys ran wild and slept well, and McKinley didn't. Ugh.

So for today I want to show you a cool card I got in the mail...it's from my SIL Lindsey using goodies I gave her for Christmas. I am so excited that not only she used them, but she enjoys it too. I just wish that we lived closer to them so we could play more.....but I am glad that we can bond over this great craft. Thanks again Lindsey...I love the card and I know mom loved the one you sent her as well.

To midnight? I did....I had had just enough caffeine to make it and then not sleep so well. Oh well....today has been a super lazy day and I am not quite sure if I can get back to a routine. The boys still have tomorrow off and then back to school.
I played around a little now that I cleaned up my craft room. I found some things I didn't know I had and then some things I needed to get rid off. I'll try and post them later to see if anyone wants them or I may try Free cycle.

For this CosmoBella card, I used some Blue TAC CS and some paper from my Glitter Mat Stack, and fibers I had and then some black CS to mat it on. The charm is also from StampingBella. Very simple - I wasn't feeling too crafty.

This one, David made yesterday. He was in here watching the video by Kristina that I posted about in my last post. He started to draw the sketch and said he wanted to emboss the letters. So this is what he came up with in the end. Pretty good for 7. At the last second he asked for a fella and thought we would be BBQing on New Years, instead of drinking with Beerafella.

Off to keep the recliner from leaving the living room now. Enjoy the New Year!!

Howdy!

Here are some more of the Thank yous I made this last week. I don't think I mentioned that we had a Secret Santa visit us this year. For 12 days we got goodies....mostly for the kids excitement. It was fun to wait each night and most times we would be distracted and not be waiting to catch them. Also sometimes there would be goodies left when I went to get the paper. It was fun, and I hope that next year I can remember early enough to shop for a family too.

So this card is for the neighbor kids who were our Secret Santa. I used my Outlaw DP {See sidebar for what that means!!} and I colored my deer from the Moose You set with my new markers. The brads are form CTMH. Super simple lil card really.

This one is for a family who brought us some yummy Cinnamon rolls after Gramma passed. They were nice to have while we opened presents.

I used more Outlaw DP and my set Bronc Buster stamped in Chocolate Chip. Then simply added some brads for accents.

I still need to make a couple more now and get them all mailed out.

Having a Holiday makes me messed up on days. I'm not supposed to post about forgetting things tho - but I am posting about forgetting what day it is. I didn't realize it was Friday when I posted this morning so I thought I would post another couple cards for the weekend.

These two are made with the Sweet Thing set from SU! I fully cased this first card from HERE and I love it. I used some Green SU CS and then my Glitter Mat Stack. I punched out with my CM square punch and stamped the yellow one and the love you. Then drew the lines, which you can tell was drawn.

This next one was super simple as well. Used the other half of the Green CS and a leftover from the Mat Stack and some scrap yellow. Stamped the Star in Certainly Celery and then the sentiment in Black. The ribbon is TAC.

I am kind of on craft over load and hopefully tomorrow I am going to clean out my craft room. I am feeling a lil overwhelmed with all the new things I have gotten and stuff I don't use anymore. So I may list it here, or pitch it, or just share. I just need to purge a little.

And then I need to get more organized. I am also working on a comforter for McKinley's kid bed so I'll post that pretty lil thing later. I have more cards, but I probably will wait til Sunday to post again.

Bellas and Elzybells

I have emerged from my craft room, just long enough to post! LOL.... so says Greg.

I love Ipodabella and the new funky look that Em created with these Bellas. I used my new Sugarloaf markers {FYI-these came from Ben Franklin Crafts and are awesome!!} I also used my Glitter Mat Stacks paper and this sentiment stamp - it has 12+ sayings and I thought this was perfect for this image huh?

I also needed to make some Thank You's for the goodies we have received. I made this for a friend who has a lil Blond-haired girl McKinley's age. It could be them!! I used my new markers here too and them matted on a punch I received in WISH RAK. The paper is all SU! and the ribbon is May Arts. I also used Liquid Applique to make the puffy snow.

LOOK WHAT I GOT!!!!!
I am so excited about the new catalog and new year. It's got me thinking of lots of new things, so you may see some changes this new year. Then again, you may not.

There are some super fun new stamps in here and there are so super cool new toys too. The Bind It All!! We carry that !!! Woo Hoo!!!

Plus soooo much more. I can't wait!!
I did also go down and play this morning. The boys got some new PS2 games so they are entertained. Now to get Mc for a nap and I'll have more time.

From the first time I saw this stamp I wanted to make it into a buckle. So that was the first thing that I tried.

I cut out an oval and used it as a template to emboss the oval shape. I did this twice and while it was still wet I stamped the image. Perfection!!
Then I used some Outlaw DP and Blue Bayou for the *shirt & jeans*.I used Kraft CS for the belt and distressed the edges and punched holes with my Cropa Dile. Then I popped the buckle up on pop dots. To finish I distressed all the edges and the buckle itself. It is super simple and looks awesome.

I have to say I am ready for a few days between holidays here!! I hope to play a little so I have something to share here. I know people {Khristi} don't like it when I take a break! LOL....

Anyway, here is some of my crafting loot Santa brought. Actually Santa brought me some new sets: Boatloads of Love, Sweet Thing and Moose You along with the Cutter Kit. Then the *kids*{aka Greg} got me the sets: Wanted and Bronc Buster along with the Outlaw DP. I have ideas rolling!!! They also got me the Sharpies, I am always needing them, and the Sugarloaf Whispers marker set. I think they are going to be great as well.

My brother and SIL got me some more fun trinkets, a Glitter mat stack (which I was telling Lindsey about the day before) a sentiment stamp and some cool ribbons and bags to alter. And my mom found me some vintage ribbons to use too. I got some other great things as well...lots of chocolate to keep me nourished while I am down crafting.

I thought I would also post a shot of our living room Christmas night. Crazy huh. It's all cleaned up and now back to the regular chores we always have.

We survived the whole Holiday weekend. It was a very long few days, but super fun. It was nice that my brother and his wife were able to come home and the kids loved that. Today I tried to clean up the mess and we went to Greg's niece's house to visit since we missed them on Christmas Eve. So - I have some more things to share but it's late.

I got new stamps, so Greg thinks I may never return from my room....but I have to come share with you all right?
oh yeah, and feed them to keep them quiet!! LOL....

Happy Holidays!
I have to say I am ready for the next two days. Today is Grammie's visitation and family dinner, then tomorrow morning is the funeral.
Then we leave for Greg's niece's house for Christmas with them, and drive back home to get things ready for Christmas day here. I am tired already and waiting for those days after to unwind.

I had a little time yesterday to play with my new Elzybells images. I love them!! Esp. this one under the mistletoe. She is too cute!! I will give her to Greg on Christmas!!

Ahhh.....mushy huh?

This one I made for our paper delivery gal. She left a card so I thought I would send one back thanking her for delivering the paper.
You can't see it, but I used Crystal Effects on her wings to make them sparkle!

These were fun to make and relax to.

Hi all....this week has been as crazy as planned plus some. Some of you know my Grandma passed away this Wednesday. She has been in poor health for some time and we all knew the day would come. She was 81 and we were fortunate to be able to go see her on Tuesday and then she went down hill fast after that. But that morning, she was chipper and visited with us. That was great.
Here is a picture of her and McKinley from the end of Sept. at my Grandpa's birthday party. So now, the weekend will be full of bustle as well, with family coming and happenings on Sunday and the funeral Monday.

I did want to post tho, and send Holiday Wishes to you all. I've been popping on here and reading my SBS Sisters blog and will take more time for comments next week. I do hope that everyone has safe travels and a joyous time with family and friends.

Monday this week, was our Stampin'Up! Christmas party. We made these cute lil stars - well, they look funny really, b/c they are off kilter, but they are cute on the tree huh? And we used the Prints Designer Series paper, which I hadn't really looked at but I love it now!! Too bad I didn't think about it in Nov. when it was all on sale. :(

We also made some Snowman Poop bags which I gave to RC before I could take a pic. These tho are the cards I got in the swap and then the new Scrapping papers for my exchange gift.
Then Tuesday was a super mail day. I got my Bellas from Em - Thanks Em!! I got Clickabella, Ipodabella, MWAHabella, Hitchedabellafellla and some Doodles for Daniel flowers and the Giggle word. I did go down Wednesday night and color some to relax, but I'll save that for another day.
Then Chris Mott also sent me some fun images of DiplomaBella, and some Elzybells! They are soooo stinkin' cute!! So I can't wait to play more with them!! I also love the little owls!! Fun stuff huh?
Then I needed a Thank You card for a good friend of mine. When I saw Rockabella the wheels starting turning. I used up some Chipboard and DP from WRMemory Keepers. I love it!! And I think Tangii will too!

{Paper Piecing Tutorial}

Hi all!! First off, I need to post that this is going to be the last post for a few days...maybe the week. I have a full schedule of things to do before the holidays, so if I can get crafty, I'll share with you. Otherwise I promise to pop in next weekend. I do want to make sure that I can be keeping up with my blogs I visit as well!

So, for the tutorial. I've had some comments on how I do paper piecing and I thought what a fun idea for a tutorial. Esp. since I am in love with this technique on my Bellas. {Lindsey, you can still come and play with me tho!!}

You need to know, you can click on the pics to make them larger and if you have any other questions, please Email me. First I'll gather supplies and most importantly - Cupcakeabella. If you haven't purchased Bellas, you need to know they come only as the Rubber. You can use them as is, with double sided tape on your blocks, however, I have found that with the larger images it's best to have EZ mount. And honestly, since I've used it I won't go back!!
I've also gathered up my Designer Papers (DP) and cardstock (CS) from the Mimi collection from TAC; my trimmer, adhesives, markers, Noir Pallette Black ink and embellishments.
First off, I'll stamp the image twice on the cream CS. I'll trim one, making sure to trim just outside the black lines. I do also cut her legs off b/c they are too flimsy to pop up.
The I'll stamp her three more times, making sure to stamp on the DP at the place I want highlighted on the image. You can see too, that I didn't stamp the whole image and waste paper.
Then I'll trim these out, making sure that I trim just inside the outer black line.
After I have them trimmed up, I'll adhere them to my Bella. I like to use a glue stick here as I can make sure I get glue evenly on the back of the DP.

Then, my other favorite part is coloring Bella, but with piecing all that is left is her face and hair, plus legs and arm. I have gotten Blush Blossom marker from SU! that I love for her body. I also colored the spots on her dress in Chocolate.
Then to make Bella pop, I like to use either Stampin' Up pop dots, or Foam Tape. Either works and normally I only use one or the other, but I wanted to show you here.

Then I pop her up on the previous image. Now, you also need to know, you can skip all this popping up if you want to paper piece right onto the untrimmed image. You would just use the one image of Bella instead of two. I however, really like the popping up! It's fun! :D
Then complete your card like you normally would. I used more of the Mimi DP and ribbon, the sentiment is from Living Large SU! stamp set. And I added a dab of Glitter to the top of the cupcake.

It's super easy, but yes, can see overwhelming to try. If you try this for the first time, leave me a link to your card.

Hey Bloggin' Sistahz!! I have been thinking about a RAK list and possibly a Secret Sister Club with this new Sisterhood of Blogging Stampers.

ETA - Just an update...I have to hear back from 13 of our Sistahz still. I sent out requests for info and I am sorry of I sent it twice. I got confused!! LOL..

Anyway, I'll leave this at top until Friday now and hope to hear from them!

First off, I want to do the RAK list - if you want to be on the RAK list, send me an email at jstaskif@ttc-cmc.net along with your Full Name, Address and Birthday. I'll compile the list and get it out to you.

For the Secret Sister Swap - How about No Shopping...just a simple card a couple times a month to get to know each other. You could swap images or something like that, but nothing more than the cost to mail it. If you would like that, please mention that in your email. I'll send you a certain Sister to send to for 2 months and then we will re-swap.

I'll leave this at the top of my blog until Wednesday when I'll compile the lists and email them back out. I'll also assign your Sistahz then as well.

Tomorrow I am meeting up with some friends for our gab sessions! My mom is calling us Gossip Gals...lol... Anyway, I wanted to make them something for Christmas. Originally I was going to do recipe cards, but I've been seeing these Birthday Calendars all over Blogville. So I tried my hand at them. They took a lil to perfect them...however I am excited about how they turned out.

I started out by covering the Chipboard. First off, I was not thinking right about how the insides would turn out, so the first 2 are longer, and then I figured it out on the third.

They were fun. You can see them each individually below and then the inside pages I made on my computer. I ran out of White CS and didn't have November and December, but fortunately mom had some. Yay!!

This card was made for the Color Challenge on the Bella Forum.

I love the way it all turned out. I pieced the cupcake together and colored her dress...Bella needs a lil black dress right? I'm still using the light blue paper from the Just Chillin Pack (CTMH) and I stamped the background stamp on the bottom part (Eclectic Backgrounds, SU!) For the black strip I used my CM cutters and one of the specialty blades. The flower sticker is from SU! also ( from the tin of stickers from last Winters Mini)

Happy Hump-day readers. I ventured down to make some cards today and get them all photographed and ready to upload here.

I love this Bella...she is super fun to color. OK, so they all are, but pink scrubs!! Fun!! She's from an image swap or I would have paper pieced her scrubs I am sure! LOL...I've found a new addiction!!

Anyway, I used all TAC products from the Mimi line. I'm so glad I got these papers - they are sooo my colors huh?
I also got a new marker for coloring Bellas skin. I got Blush Blossom from SU!. {Can you believe Ashley the order hoarder brought orders from 2 places 2 days in a row!! Love ya Ash!!}

This second pic is RC's creation from today. He has his craft table and he loves to use the Sizzix Sidekick. But today he was asking for Bellas and wanted a Cowgirl... I had just that!! LOL.. He was asking for a Cowboy too....aaahheeemm...Em, ya hear me?

Stamp Club Cards

These are the cards I made for our Stampin' UP! Club this month. Tonight was going to be our Christmas party, but we had to move it to next week.

Anyway, I was feeling like I hadn't been putting as much into my swap cards this year. It's been so hard to make more than one. Mostly b/c I never have that much in supplies! LOL...

For these I stamped the cute snowman{from TAC's Heart Sings} on Ultrasmooth White CS, colored him with my Zig makers, then punched with my Oval punch. I got a new Scallop Oval punch this weekend so I was hyped up to use it. I punched the CS that comes with the Just Chillin CTMH paper pack. I used that paper for the backgrounds as well. The main CS is SU! Blue Bayou. I popped the main ovals up over the ribbon. Added the sentiment and then I found these heart brads that work perfect from my Bella Sistah Susan! How fun huh?

So that is my work for now. These are all ready and no where to go...lol..

I had dreams of becoming an architect and our old computer is chalk-full of floor plans including the blueprints for my parent's house.
I've always wanted to travel to Texas and am reminded of that now that the NFR is on again!
Speaking of the NFR, I was there 8 years ago...pregnant with David, and had a blast watching from the VERY LAST ROW IN THE BUILDING!!! Seriously!! When I got back from there I accidentally threw our camera in the trash...no pics of me and Elvis! :(
My DH and I attended the same series of concerts at our State Fair some 5 years before we ever met.
I used to have nightmares after I closed myself into our old camp trailer's closet while I was playing house. I think it was the bedroom or something, and I shut the door...I screamed and screamed until my parents either heard me or saw the thing a rockin'! That camper was later totalled by the only twister we know came through our lil land. LOL..
I've been on a few run-away wagon rides. The worst was over the railroad tracks and into the ditch. I'm sure that scared us to death at the time...seems exciting now.

OK, so that is some highlights I guess. Hope that doesn't bore ya!

Cupcakeabella

G'day everyone.

I finished up my Stamp Club cards and wanted to make one just for fun. I'm sending this to my friend Shannon who is swapping images with me.

I stamped Cupcakeabella on Ultrasmooth White CS twice (well, lots for Shannon!!) and then cut one out. I was going to cut the legs but they are too flimsy. Then I stamped it again 3 times on DP from CTMH Just Chillin pack. Cut those out and pieced them on the white CS. Then I colored her hair, body and the dots on her dress. I used a brass brad for the top of the cupcake and some Glitter Glue for the cupcake frosting. Yummy huh?

I got some foam tape this weekend so I popped her up on that. Then matted on more DP and added some ribbon and a sentiment from TAC.

Today I took the kids shopping for each other and we wrapped some presents. Tonight is going to see Santa...I hope McKinley wants to sit on his lap!!!

Family Christmas Card

Hi everyone. Hope you are enjoying the Sunday.

After a LATE night of stamping Friday, we got up way to darn early yesterday to drive to Havre for some Holiday Shopping, with my mom, aunt and McKinley. It was 20 below when we left my aunts house!! Yeah, we are nuts!! But I feel so much better about Christmas approaching.

I finished up my cards Friday night to send out for the holidays. I had some trouble getting them to print off right but it did work for me and I love it!!

It's simple b.c it had to be mulitplied, but that is OK!! The CS is DCVW from TAC, the brad was a MM I found, some extra ribbon and then the sentiment is from TAC.

I've cleaned up from leaving the 3 boys (yep, Greg) and now I am ready to play some more! I hope you are all staying warm and enjoying the day.

This paper is all from a CK kit I got over at QVC awhile back. So I just colored Bella and added some Crystal Effects to make the rain. And then added some Primas and some stickles on top of them.

Bella Color Challenge

First off...tomorrow night on the Bella SCS Forum is our Bella Ball! There will be challenges and prizes, reveals of new Bellas and some surprises as well.

It all starts at 6 p.m. Eastern Time (4 p.m. Mountain Time) on the SCS Forum.

Today is Thursday which means my Bella Color Challenge. I got some DP from Ashley the order hoarder (sorry that is your new name now! :D) that is from Close to my Heart. I think it was Just Chillin' paper pack. But it's beautiful paper.

I needed to make Brandi a birthday card so I used this Giftabella (?) She is super fun to color you know?!

The CS was Wild Wasabi and Ruby Red. The optional color is Soft Sky. I also used some AC ribbon and the sentiment is from TAC's hostess set. I wanted to send her Do the Hokey Pokey, but this really works better. She's expecting any day and did not want to share her birthday...so she must share her cake right? (I love ya Cuz!!)

I also tried some faux stitching with my CTMH Sew Happy set. I had ordered the longer block that The Order Hoarder had too! LOL...I had totally forgotten about my order, but Ashley had them in her trunk, and I am going to give her heck about it for a long time!! LOL...

Gift Set 4

I finished up my 4th Gift set and have one left to do. These last 2 are harder for me, I don't know why. But I do think they will like these. I used the stamp from Brushstoke Horses and stamped onto Kraft paper. I used my blender pen and re-inker to color the horses. The plaid paper was in my stash, don't know the name. Then I used some Blue and golden Bazzill paper. The brads were some various things I had as well. Pretty simple. The sketch was a variation of Jen's Sketch for you to try.

I also had to get my gift for Stampin Up club ready. In December we usually give a small stamping related gift and do an exchange. This month we are traveling for club and I don't know if I'll go. I hate to travel at night and I hate to travel in winter, so I may skip, although I love the fun time we have.
Anyhoot - I wrapped it up with some SU! wrapping paper and then tried the ribbon weaving I saw on the Martha Stewart craft site. It's harder to do but it looks so nice.

Gift Sets 2 and 3

Hello all...here we go on another week. Can you all believe it's the first week of December?! It's crazy to me. For our area we usually have tons of snow at this time, so this is just weird.
I worked on more cards sets for my aunt. You can see the first ones I made HERE.

The recipient of these is expecting a baby around Christmas day. So I was super excited to break out my new Sweet Little Baby set by TAC. The giraffe is too precious!!

I stamped and colored him and used my shadow technique of just drawing around him like a shadow would look. I love the look this gives. The cardstock is all Bazzill (Except the 2 darker green cards...I ran out and used SU!) The DP is We R Memory Keepers, Peasant Rhapsody. The sentiment is from Vogue Verses, I only stamped part of it. Then used my slit punch and added some ribbon and a brad. I thinks these are adorable cards. I hope the recipient loves them too!! I know my aunt will be happy with the giraffes!!

These ones I don't know about. I CASED a card from a SU! mini catalog and then choose some colors from the color wheel. I thought I needed these tags, but I have such a hard time with them!! But in the end they are OK, I guess.

The cardstock is SU! Pale Plum and Cameo Coral and then some green Bazzill. They are pretty simple really.

So I have four sets done now...I'll post the other one Tuesday. I need to find an idea for the 5th set. It's been fun really.

On another note....do you watch Desperate Housewives or Brothers and Sisters? Why do they leave you like that!! And now there is no show for either next week!! ! WHY!!!!! This is why I hate TV.

I have joined up at the Sisterhood of Blogging Stampers and am super excited to meet the new crafters!!

So I wanted to post for those who are coming over here from there.

My name is Katie, I'm a crafter of all sorts. I grew up working on wood projects in the shop, and loved painting the projects. I also have some very crude scrapbooks from high school, but I really jumped in just before our oldest was born. I scrapbooked every picture I took of him!! I soon discovered stamping too and love the creative outlets of both. I also like to sew, quilt some, and paint. But mostly it's papercrafts that I work on now.

I am a mom to three kids, David will be 8, RC is 5 and McKinley is 16 months today! All three keep me busy and on my toes. I am married to my best friend Greg and together we are fun lil family. My craft room is my Oasis from the daily bores and chores.

I also have only a handfull of friends who appreciate the crafts I create and that is the reason I love the Internet and now blogging. Thanks for stopping by and I hope to get to know all the Sistahz better!!

Gifts

I've been working on Gift items lately. My aunt ordered 5 sets of cards to give as gifts and these are the first of them. I know the recipients and it's still hard to have ideas. This one, I know she likes Cows, so I went with TAC's What's Moo! set. I love coloring so this was fun. However, matching the colors with the DP I picked was harder! LOL... I think the DP was in my stash and it didn't have a name on the back. I used some light green Bazzill and then Groovy Guava from SU!. The ribbon was from my share, and then the brads I got as a gift. I think they are Making Memories.

So I have one set done and packaged up - 4 more to go! LOL...

Then I've also had to work on a Birthday gift. I know the recipient reads this but it's in the mail and I also know she'll rip it open as soon as she gets it!! She can never wait!! LOL...

This shows the cards packaged already and they are all similar to this one...a little variation on each one to make them special. I've been wanting to try a Monogram set for some time, so I tried it here. The *L* is actually a stamp from my Quickutz. When I got my QK it came with some stamping foam and rockers {think acrylic blocks that rock back and forth} and tells you how to die cut your own stamps. Super cool huh? So I can create my own word stamps!

That's what I've been up to. It's bitter cold so I plan to stay in and work on some more sets. Stay tuned for them and maybe some more fun cards!!

LOL - I do sometimes feel this way, esp. on weekends when I want to sleep in and the kidlets want to get up early! So watch out for GrumpaMOM!

I made this card for the Bella Color Challenge on the SCS forums.

I used Barely Banana and Real Red. On the RR mat you can see I used Julie's CropaDile dry embossing tutorial. It may take me awhile to get used to it and get it perfect, but I like the look it gives!

Grumpabella is from an image swap and I colored her robe yellow and red too. I used ARGH from my new Pirate set from Sweet and Sassy stamps. And the ribbon was from my share this past spring.

I hope you venture over to play with us on our challenges. They are a lot of fun!

Also mark your calendar for December 7th - that will be THE BELLA BALL, where Em is celebrating her 1 year anniversary from opening the Stamping Bella website! I am sure that it will be great fun!!

I am getting more into that Holiday Spirit...I did some online shopping yesterday so maybe that's what I needed.

I worked on the Bella Sketch Challenge last night.
You can see it HERE. This one was a challenge for me....I just didn't like the tabs on the left hand side, but I do like the outcome.

Wreathabella was from my Image Swap I got this week. She was fun to color!

I used TAC holiday paper (that is sold out!) and so I didn't have to use two types of paper on the background. I used Glorious Green Cardstock for the main card and the matting. The Red tape is from Heidi Swapp and the sentiment is TAC Tag Tidbits.

Sweet And Sassy Stamps

I got three packages in the mail today. I love to see the yellow slips our PO puts in our boxes...it makes me smile a lil more!

One was for Greg :( One was my Bella image swap - I now have tons more images to sort and then play with! Yeah!

And one was my order from Korin at Sweet and Sassy Stamps. Korin is super nice to deal with and makes the cutest stamps. I met her/found her stamps through the Bella Group...she's a SISTAH!

I've been contemplating over a Pirate set for some time. I live with two lil scallywags here so I figured I could make some cards for them and even scrapbook pages for when we watch Pirates of the Caribbean and we dress up to watch it.

So here is my first card. I stamped the image after masking the treasure map. I pulled out the scrap bucket and I know I got this DP and the textured paper at my LSS before she closed, but no name...sorry. I also cut notches and distressed them before putting it all together. I loved adding the eye patch at the end too...it's totally cute! So I can add this to the pile for kids birthdays!

This second card was uber simple! Stamped the treasure chest on some Kraft CS, matted on Wild Wasabi and then some Bazzill and Viola! Perfection!

Now on to my favorite set....Chocoholic! You know that's me!! There are so many fun possibilities for this set. But since time was running short on play time tonight I started off with the cake. I punched it with my Oval punch and had this scallop one here. Once again dug through the scrap pile and found this old SU! paper from last spring and matted on some CHOCOLATE Bazzill CS. Tied up with May Arts ribbon and stamped the sentiment on Kraft.

It looks so yummy I could eat it! Too bad the boys finished off our Chocolate Cake after dinner. Ok, I don't need it....right.....

Bella Calendar Swap

My Fun Tree

I am really having a tough time getting into the Holiday spirit. It just seems to be coming too soon and I'm not really ready I guess.

However I did set up the decorations and the tree this weekend.
I've been working on things, but mostly gifts that I can't post.

This was a project I did get done that I can show you.....

Our local radio holds an auction where you can call in a bid on things that stores have traded for ad time. Long story short, I bought this tree there! I know...what a dork, but I knew it could be used and I was right!!

My angel on top is non other than Snowbunny Bella! In her spectacular pink parka and matching boots.

I've had these clear ornaments and simply rolled up some TAC paper and stuck them inside. Tied some funky ribbon to the branches, and decorated the bottom with some queen and co. fun felt.

A super fun decoration for my crafting room!

Black Friday

Are you totally stuffed from yesterday or what? Never plan to eat again? Yeah, til lunchtime rolls around huh? LOL...aren't we funny? We gorge ourselves, but we don't ever stop!

Sorry I didn't post a Happy Thanksgiving yesterday...I hope you had one. I am thankful for so much and more than I could ever type. But I also thankful for having the creativity and being able to share it here. I've met some wonderful gals through the online craft world and it's been so awesome this last year to blog and share things. Living in a small town, it's not always every one's cup of tea to see what I made, so being able to share with those who appreciate it is wonderful.

So I am thankful to those of you who come by and read my blog. I hope you continue to do so and I will continue to provide you with eye candy!!

For today's eye candy. I CASE'd these from Jen at Pieces of Me. I thought they would be so fun and easy and I am always looking for that!

I simply used some clear ornaments that I got last year and cut strips of the Dashing DP, rolled them up and pushed them into the top.

They really turned out just cute!!

Today is Black Friday Shopping! You goin'? My mom and I did that one year and people in the city were so rude!! It's not nearly as bad here in Po-Dunk, so I might venture out. I plan to call my friend for coffee and then David needs a new winter coat and then I either need to clean the garage to find the boys' snowboots or buy new ones. I swear I put them away last spring, but I did so in a way that I can't seem to find them. I cleaned out all of the closets and storage room Wednesday, so now it's the garage time. What a way to spend the day huh?

This could be me today - IF I looked as cute as SnowbunnyBella!

But the point is that it snowed here and I could dress like this! Instead, I wear big ole packs, a bulky coat, & my mustang winter beanie. LOL...but we can dream through Bella.

I cleaned out some of my papers and kits that are half gone and found this fun paper. I would love a green coat like this. (see living through her!!)

I also got some new brads this weekend and they worked perfectly. The RicRak was also the last of the kit as well. Super cute and simple!

I am having fun with SnowbunnyBella and Sandie Laursen sent me some more images and some matching Cuttlebugged papers! Thanks Sandie!!

I used the paper and them colored her in light blue. I used my Glitter Glue to make her *white* parts shimmer and the snow underfoot as well.

Hi ya readers!! I had the best craftin' day yesterday. Jenn Stevens came from Kalispell and put on a couple classes. I can share this one, but not the other ....it's a gift!! Here are the last two cards I made last Friday. My finale of Holiday Cards that are simple and sweet. You can scroll down to see more of them

The card on the left is made with Rose Red cardstock, Dashing DP, Old Olive CS, punched and then the smaller circles are punched out as well. Then I used the MM rub ons and the green ribbon is from the fibers.

The card on the right uses the CTMH santa again and more of the same papers. Like I said, simple and sweet and I can mail them out now.

Ack, seriously, it's almost that time isn't it! I really cannot believe that it's so close to Christmas.

Bella Color Challenge and Stamp Club Cards

OK, late...but we have got our computer fixed and it's running so much better now!

Today I posted the Bella Color Challenge on the SCS Bella forum. It was Certainly Celery, Rose Red, Tempting Turq. and Lovely Lilac. Bright colors. I thought that would be fun since most of us have been making fall colored cards lately.

I used Shopabellas (a neglected stamp) and loved coloring them so bright!! I stamped some speckle on the Rose Red and then spots from Eclectic Backgrounds on the Lilac. I found this FRIENDSHIP charm and some more green ribbon.

Now as promised yesterday some cards and creations from Tuesday's stamp club.

We made these cute lil boxes at the club. They are super cute for giving lil gifts or even gift cards!

The snowflake is the Supersize Snowflake and I really like it. At first I thought Bonny had traced it off something...it looks so cool on these!

Then we created the tags using the Tags on Board set. Another one I passed by but really like. I love the swirls and how most of those stamps work with a punch in the book. Nifty huh?

And lastly, these are the cards I received in our exchange. There is 10 of us plus Bonny (our demo) and then we make one for the Ronald McDonald house. It is fun to exchange and get some fun ideas from everyone.

{Holiday Cards part2}

First off, I got some great goodies last Friday from my November JT RAK friend Dottie K. Isn't that card cute!!

There is some Martha Stewart cards and envies, some funky fibers, a roll of spotted ribbon and a lil punch. Also there was some MM rub ons that I used up before I snapped this picture, and then the lil TO/FROM cards she made! So cute!

I used most of the goodies Friday at my party, so I didn't get a pic before hand.

Here are some of the cards I made. This image is from CTMH (thanks Khristi) and the paper is all SU!. You can see the ribbon and fibers and rub on words that Dottie sent me.

More simple and easy to reproduce cards.

Last night was stamp club and we made a cute box, I'll post later today. I'll also post the last of my holiday cards tomorrow.

{Bella Fun!!}

What a great mail day for me!!

First, Lorie Ames sent me some Snow bunny Bellas!! I love this Bella! I am wishing I could be bundled up like her right now. It's soo cold here.

For this card I used Crate Paper, CTMH brads and the sentiment and image are StampingBella, both sent to me by Lorie. I colored her with my markers and I think that she needs some bling on her somewhere. I'll have to tweak it some.

Also at the mail today was my order from Stamping Bella. I wanted the hot knife so bad and finally caved. I got it and the package of replacement blades. It works super well. I used it on my new Cupcakeablla.

I also got a Bella Identifiah, which I placed on my tote bag. Now you know Katiebella is here!! LOL...

For the Cupcakeabella card, I used some Bazzill paper and Bo Bunny DP. I stamped her on the DP and cut it out for her dress too. I love it. I think I need to find something more for the cupcake to make it pop. This card is the tent card style, and it's a RAK for my friend Tangii.

OK , I am off to get ready for Stamp Club. I was ready til I had to play with my new stuff!!

Good Morning!

I am happy to report I am feeling better today. Not so sore throat! Yeah! Still plan to take it easy today and tomorrow tho. We can't afford for mom to be out of commission!

I made these cards on Friday night at my party. The set is from the TAC Holiday catalog, Trendy Holiday Tags.

The cardstock and DP are from Stampin' Up! (Real Red, Old Olive and Dashing) The fibers are Making Memories. I inked up the edges too on the DP.

Very simple cards to mass produce for the holidays. And they are sneaking up!

Tonight is Stamp Club. I'll be back tomorrow to post what we create there! Have a crafty day!!
