SisterHood of Blogging Stampers

I have joined up at the Sisterhood of Blogging Stampers and am super excited to meet the new crafters!!

So I wanted to post for those who are coming over here from there.

My name is Katie, I'm a crafter of all sorts. I grew up working on wood projects in the shop, and loved painting the projects. I also have some very crude scrapbooks from high school, but I really jumped in just before our oldest was born. I scrapbooked every picture I took of him!! I soon discovered stamping too and love the creative outlets of both. I also like to sew, quilt some, and paint. But mostly it's papercrafts that I work on now.

I am a mom to three kids, David will be 8, RC is 5 and McKinley is 16 months today! All three keep me busy and on my toes. I am married to my best friend Greg and together we are fun lil family. My craft room is my Oasis from the daily bores and chores.

I also have only a handfull of friends who appreciate the crafts I create and that is the reason I love the Internet and now blogging. Thanks for stopping by and I hope to get to know all the Sistahz better!!

Um, do I read too many blogs??

I do. And I read them via Google Reader. I simply add the subscriptions and when new posts are up, I see that and read them. Very Handy!

I didn't realize that I have 70 subscriptions!! And this said...

From your 70 subscriptions, over the last 30 days you read 1,551 items, starred 4 items, shared 0 items, and emailed 0 items. {Guess I read and don't share enough!!}

Guess whose Blog I read the most posts on? Yep, Allison's Stamping When I Can {One of my firsts and one of my Favs...}

The Time of day I read the most - ties between 3 pm and 9 pm. {Coffee breaks and before Bed...hmmm}

Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the only 2 days I don't read more than 175 posts. {Are you all posting less or am I more busy?}

In the last three weeks, on Oct. 4th I read the most posts in one day...108

Very Interesting...

Jen's Sham Battle Challenge

Jen at Piece's of Me offers up a Sunday Challenge, this week a sketch challenge and I've actually gotten to participate.

Sorry for the blurry picture...I need to get my own camera back here soon!!!

I love these stamps from Hambo Stamps. They just crack me up. The DP is Frutti Fusion from TAC. The cardstock is SU! Photo Hanger from CTMH and ribbon from my share this spring.

Super Simple.

This is the Sketch itself to give you an idea of what I was doing.
I spent yesterday afternoon redoing my craft room. I love to do that sometimes, gives you a fresh start. But my table was just too dang crowded, so I added another desk in there and gave myself some room. There isn't as much moving room, but then all I need is to get to my table and play!!

I NEED....

{I have some cards to post, but I am having camera/port troubles...so check back}

When I started this blog last summer, it was b/c I then too, was having troubles with my camera connecting to the PC. I was also having trouble emailing pictures to everyone. So I wanted to start a blog and they could come here to see them.

Well, then I started looking at blogs and found that ladies were posting their card creations on there. WOW! These ladies were so great. It really motivated me to step up my card making process. And I am excited to say that I feel that I have grown as a stamper from this.

I won't say that it's been cheap. LOL... In reality, blogging is Free, so what can beat that huh? But not only have I got inspiration, I've also gotten links to more shopping site and found new stamp companies. One great one, Cornish Heritage Farms is just down the road from me! How cool is that? I've also made some great friends that really GET what I am talking about when I talk Stamp.

The point of this post was to say that I am making myself create better cards. At least in my opinion. And it's also making me think more about them, and the colors and techniques. But I've also made a list of tools that I would like to purchase to help me make my cards better.

I would like a nice Paper Piercing set. I NEED more card stock now. I would like a scalloped punch. I NEED ink refills for some older inks.

Now, those wants are not just giving into what HOT on the blog world. I still see a few cards made with Cuttlebugs that everyone had to have this spring. But they aren't as HOT now. I do think that the Paper Piercing set would be so versatile but I also think that the scalloped punch is just a fad for me! LOL..plus I'd have to have all 20 to be satisfied!

So, I guess my blog is ever changing. I just hope that you enjoy reading it as much as I do typing it!!

{Another Cute Card}

I thought I would throw out another card for your weekend viewing pleasure. I never know what I'll get done, let alone posted over the weekend.

While I was Blog Surfing, or blurfing as Allison calls it, I got this idea. I stamped the image on a clear sheet. I think SU calls them Window Sheets. I stamped mine in Black craft and heated it with my heat gun. I think StazOn would be the way to go tho.

While that was drying, I stamped the lil circles from the Delight in Life set on Rose Red CS.
Then I used my Circle Cutter from Creative Memories and cut the middle out of both the base and the Rose Red. I sandwiched the clear sheet between the two and adhered them all together. I added a smaller circle inside the card to add some color and then added some Primas on the front. Those were an after thought so you can see they went all the way through. Some people don't think that's pretty. I think it's OK.

{This is why I love Heidi Swapp}

OK, if you don't know Heidi Swapp is a SuperStar of Scrapbooking Embellisments. OK, so that is what I would say anyway. LOL... The things she has in her line are so me and my way of scrapping! I love it.

And of course, I am a regular reader of her blog. It makes me happy that she is so down to earth, really. A real person, with real kids and a real life. So it makes me want to follow her line even more. Plus she is so super busy...with 4 kids, one the same age as McKinley and then she's expecting again! HOLY SMOLY!!

So anyway, the reason for my babble...she posted this on her blog today ------>Summer Hair

that is a great idea if you ask me! So I need to 1)order some of that ribbon 2) make my OWN head bands for McKinley and I! She looks cuter in them, but still..we have to match! LOL..

I just wanted to share that great idea!

We are off to take my FIL to his house and move him in. I think we are doing OK, but he is ready. He was arguing with Greg that is wasn't Thursday it was Friday today! WTH!! He wanted it to be moving day, so Dave got it ready for him today.

I also got to finish my cards for stamp club today and made a few others. I have a SWEET lady that I plan to give a bunch of them too!!

{genie bags}

This morning while I was browsing through the blogs, I came across this tutorial for these Genie Bags.
Jen was the gal who first put them on SCS so everyone started to call them Genie bags, b/c of her log in name.

You can see her tutorial here ---->I{heart}2stamp

So I wanted to try it. This is what I came up with. The only bags I have are brown lunch sacks, so I went with a brown theme, using Chocolate Chip CS and then some some of the DP from the Winter Mini. Then I stamped the big blossom, and kissed it although it didn't totally turn out perfect.

I am going to fill it with cards and give it to a SWEET lady. I hope that she enjoys it and the cards.

Today is just gorgeous out. I looked out and thought about going out to work in the yard, but I really don't want to get all sweaty before the wedding. So I got crafty!

McKinley and RC are napping, Greg went out to golf with friends, and David has been chilling too. Now I think I'll sit on the patio and watch him ride his bike!

I hope you are all enjoying the weekend!
